Think youâre tired after a day of sun, drinks, and excursions? Try getting a good nightâs sleep on a cruise! Between the rocking ship, less-than-cozy beds, and hallway chaos, even the best sleeper can struggle (my husband is a member of the "I can't sleep on a cruise" club).

To make your nights on board as restful as your days are fun đ, I created a list of sleep essentials in my Amazon store. Find my list HERE!(ad)đ https://joylink.io/sunpackedsuitcase/zauFKiD
THE REALITIES OF SLEEPING ON A CRUISE:
đ˘ Rocking beds: Sometimes itâs soothing. Sometimes it feels like a mini rollercoaster.
đď¸ Uncomfortable mattresses: Your cabin bed may not feel like homeâor a five-star hotel.
đ Hallway noise: People chatting at 3 AM right outside your door and kids sprinting up and down the hall while you try to catch a sea day nap.
đĄ Lights: Hallway flashes, elevator lights, or cabin signsâsuddenly itâs not so dark.
â° Time zone changes: Even a small shift can leave your internal clock confused.
HOW TO SLEEP BETTER ON BOARD:
â Sleep mask: Blocks out random lights and keeps your eyes cozy.
â Earplugs or a white noise machine: Drown out hallway chatter, late-night snackers, and energetic kids.
â Travel-friendly pillow or mattress topper: My husband found one at Costco that he now brings on every cruise.
â Stick to your bedtime routine: Even on vacation, your body likes familiar cues.
â Avoid heavy meals and caffeine before bed: Your stomach and sleep will thank you.
TIP: Make sure your white noise machine is non-Bluetooth, since wireless speakers may not be allowed. Pack it in your carry-on so security can see itâs just a sleep aid.
