Us

Hi, I'm Lynn(ie).

I was born and raised in Orlando, Florida, and yes, I went to Disney World a lot as a kid.

I didn't really travel much growing up. We didn't take family vacations in the station wagon like many families did in the 1980s, but why would we? We had Disney, SeaWorld, Busch Gardens, Circus World (later Boardwalk & Baseball), Wet 'n Wild, Mystery Fun House, and Universal Studios right in our backyard. Looking back, I had a pretty cool childhood.

24+ years ago i met this cute Michigander and moved to the Space Coast. We watch rocket launches from our front yard, are only 15 minutes from the beach, an hour away from Disney and 30 minutes from Port Canaveral. It's a tiny slice of heaven here in Central Florida.

We have two adult children who make us incredibly proud. Our oldest recently returned to school to earn another degree, and our youngest recently graduated from the University of Florida. Go Gators!

After both my kids grew up i started fostering bunnies to help a local rescue in the area (Space Coast Bunnies, check them out!). Well what i learned is i'm really bad at it, every time a bunny came and went my heart broke a little.  Today, we have three resident bunnies (our foster fails) who have permanently claimed their spots in our family. My husband has officially banned me from fostering any more rabbits.

My husband and I started buying and renovating houses back in 2009. When the kids were little, we'd bring them to job sites, set them up with a TV and a Nintendo GameCube in the cleanest room we could find, and work for as long as they'd tolerate being there. At the time, my husband was an engineer and I was a stay-at-home mom who learned how to paint, tile, drywall, and clean some seriously nasty houses while the kids were at school. It turns out you can learn a lot from YouTube. What started as a hobby eventually grew into a rental property business. It gave my husband the opportunity to retire from his corporate career and manage our properties full-time. More importantly, it gave us something we value even more: flexibility, freedom, and the ability to travel.

Living so close to Port Canaveral has its benefits!

I love cruising and sharing what I learn along the way. I created this website because planning is part of the fun. Every traveler is different, and there's no one-size-fits-all approach to cruising, but my goal is to help make your vacation planning a little easier and a lot more enjoyable.

Whether you're researching your first cruise or your fiftieth, I hope you'll find something helpful here.
