🐠🤿 Cruise Tip: Reef-Safe Sunscreen Matters!

Headed to the Caribbean, Mexico, or The Bahamas? When you’re snorkeling, swimming, or lounging near coral reefs, the sunscreen you use can make a huge difference for marine life!

🧓 What is Reef-Safe or Reef-Friendly Sunscreen?

These sunscreens are made without harmful chemicals like oxybenzone and octinoxate, which can damage or bleach coral reefs. Instead, they use minerals like zinc oxide or titanium dioxide as natural UV blockers. Find a few of my recommendations here(ad): https://joylink.io/cXK1QDX

LOOK FOR LABELS THAT SAY:

āœ… ā€œReef Safeā€ or ā€œReef Friendlyā€

āœ… ā€œNon-nano zinc oxideā€ or ā€œNon-nano titanium dioxideā€

āœ… ā€œBiodegradableā€

AVOID INGREDIENTS LIKE:

āŒ Oxybenzone

āŒ Octinoxate

āŒ Octocrylene

āŒ Homosalate

Why it matters:

Many popular cruise ports (like Cozumel, RoatĆ”n, and some areas of Hawaii) are working to protect their reefs — some even ban non-reef-safe sunscreen! Protecting the ocean helps keep those stunning snorkeling spots alive for future cruisers. šŸ’™

🩓 Cruiser tip: Pack reef-safe sunscreen before you sail — ship and port prices can be much higher!

🐚 Let’s keep the reefs colorful and healthy — one sunscreen choice at a time! 🌈
