You’ve seen the offer.
“🎉 CONGRATS! You’ve earned a FREE cruise!”
Sometimes those deals can be worth it. But let’s clear something up for anyone new to cruising.....
A “FREE” cruise is almost never actually free.
HERE'S WHAT USUALLY ISN'T INCLUDED:
💳 Taxes & port fees (this alone can be a few hundred dollars)
🧾 Gratuities (automatically added daily)
⛽ Some cruise lines even add a daily fuel charge
🍹 Drinks, specialty coffee, sodas
📶 WiFi
✈️ Flights or gas to the port
🏨 Pre-cruise hotel
🚕 Transfers & parking
🛡️ Travel insurance
And sometimes the “free” cabin is an interior guarantee — meaning you don’t pick your room, and upgrades cost extra.
We book a lot of casino offers, and when they include onboard credit, casino free play, and free drinks, it can actually turn into a really good deal — plus, since we live local to Port Canaveral, we don’t have to pay for the cost of travel.
It’s not about avoiding the “free” offers — it’s about understanding them so you know exactly what’s included.
Cruising is still one of the best vacation values out there 🙌 Just don’t let the word “free” make the decision for you.
