Sailing out of Port Canaveral and thinking about adding 1ā2 days at Walt Disney World before or after your cruise? Itās a great combo ā and you donāt need deluxe-resort money to pull it off.

š Find DiSCOUNT TiCKETS to Walt Disney World Resort HERE! š https://bit.ly/4tfDhSk
šØĀ BUDGET-FRiENDLY HOTELS NEAR DiSNEY
āĀ Disneyās All-Star Resorts (Movies, Music, Sports) ā Cheapest Disney on-property option, small rooms but free Disney transportation.
āĀ Disneyās Pop Century Resort ā Great value with Skyliner access to EPCOT & Hollywood Studios.
āĀ Drury Plaza Hotel ā Disney Springs Area ā Free breakfast + evening snacks, often cheaper than Disney resorts.
āĀ Wyndham Lake Buena Vista (Disney Springs Area) ā Walkable to Disney Springs, good cruise-friendly pricing.
āĀ Fairfield Inn / SpringHill Suites Flamingo Crossings ā Newer, clean, free breakfast, close to parks without Disney prices.
šĀ TRANSPORTATiON: Port Canaveral ā Disney
If youāre NOT sailing with Disney Cruise Line, you canāt use Disneyās cruise buses, but honestly⦠youāre not stuck at all. Most cruisers from Carnival, Royal Caribbean, MSC, etc. use these options (and they work really well):
š Uber / Lyft (Most Popular for Non-Disney Cruisers)
Best overall option for most people:
šŖ Pick up right at your cruise terminal, drop off at your Disney hotel
ā± About 45ā60 minutes
š° Typically around $100ā$130+ per ride (can vary with demand)
š Why itās great:
No waiting on a bus
No multiple stops
Usually the best value for families
š Local tip: Prices spike on busy debarkation morningsāif you can, get off the ship early or wait it out a bit.
š Shared Shuttle Services (Best Budget Option)
Best for solo travelers or couples
Common companies:
Cocoa Beach Shuttle
Cortrans
Cruise Control Transportation
Go Port Canaveral
š° Around $25ā$40 per person
ā± About 1ā1.5 hours (due to multiple stops)
š Why itās great:
Cheapest way to get to Disney
Designed specifically for cruise passengers
š Downside:
Youāll likely stop at multiple hotels before yours
š Private Car Service (Best for Convenience)
Best for groups or stress-free transfers
š Pre-booked driver waiting when you get off the ship
š° Usually $150ā$250+ per vehicle depending on size
š Why itās great:
No waiting, no sharing
Great if youāre heading straight to a park or dining reservation
š Rental Car (Most Flexible)
Best if you want to make stops
Pick up near Port Canaveral, drop near Disney
Great for:
Grocery stops
Exploring Cocoa Beach or Orlando
š Downsides:
Takes more time (pickup + drop-off process)
Not ideal if you just want to get to Disney quickly
šØ Hotel + Transfer Packages
Best if youāre staying overnight first
Some Orlando/Cocoa Beach hotels bundle:
Hotel stay
Cruise transfers
Sometimes Disney-area drop-off
š Good option if you're doing a pre- or post-cruise stay
ā What You Canāt Do (Common Confusion)
You cannot book Disney Cruise Line transportation unless you sailed with them
Disney doesnāt offer standalone transfers from Port Canaveral for other cruise lines
⨠Real-World Recommendation (Cruiser-to-cruiser)
šØāš©āš§āš¦ 3ā5 people: Uber/Lyft is usually the easiest + best value
š° Trying to save money: Shuttle service
š¢Ā MY TiPS:
ā®Ā EPCOT is my favorite!
ā® Disney Springs is free and perfect for a non-park day (food, shopping, entertainment).
ā®Ā Renting a car can be cheaper than multiple Ubers if youāre doing Disney + cruise.
