If you’re a coffee lover sailing with Carnival, you’re not limited to basic drip coffee. There are several ways to get specialty coffee onboard.
💙 JAVA BLUE CAFÉ
This is the main coffee shop on most ships and where you’ll find the biggest menu. They serve drinks like lattes, cappuccinos, Americanos, iced coffee, frozen coffee drinks, specialty flavored lattes, and even spiked coffee cocktails on some ships. They also usually have pastries, desserts, and milk alternatives like almond or oat milk.
🧍🧍🧍 THE LINE AT JAVA BLUE IS OFTEN LONG
Java Blue is popular, especially in the morning. Lines can get pretty long on sea days, so if you’re trying to grab coffee before an excursion or breakfast, plan a little extra time, or go to one of the other coffee spots.
🏛️ OTHER PLACES TO GRAB SPECIALTY COFFEE
Java Blue isn’t the only spot on the ship to enjoy espresso drinks. Many other bars and locations serve specialty coffee. If a bar serves espresso martinis or coffee drinks, it usually has an espresso machine.
📍 QUICK LIST OF PLACES YOU MIGHT FIND ESPRESSO MACHINES DEPENDING ON THE SHIP:
➤ Java Blue
➤ Havana Bar
➤ Atrium / Lobby Bar
➤ Ocean Plaza Bar
➤ Bar Della Rosa (Excel ships)
➤ Casino Bar
➤ Shake Spot
➤ Coffee Bar (Lido Marketplace)
🛏 ROOM SERVICE COFFEE DELIVERY
Wake up with coffee delivered right to your cabin! Continental room service is free and includes coffee, and a lot of cruisers love having it brought before getting ready for the day.
🌴 HAVANA BAR – A UNIQUE SPECIALTY COFFEE SPOT
On ships with a Havana area, the Havana Bar may serve espresso drinks you won’t find elsewhere. Enjoy Cuban favorites like cafecito and cortadito, or Italian-style drinks like cappuccino, latte, and mochaccino.
🍸 ESPRESSO MARTINI FANS
If you like coffee cocktails, check the bars that make espresso drinks. Some ships will make espresso martinis or spiked coffee drinks. Not every bar has an espresso machine. For example, Alchemy Bar usually does not, so espresso may need to be brought from another location for drinks like espresso martinis.
🥤 DRINK PACKAGE INFO
The CHEERS! Beverage Program does include specialty coffee, so drinks from Java Blue (and other bars serving espresso drinks) are covered up to the program’s price limit.

🎰 THE CASINO COFFEE HACK
If the casino is open, you can often get specialty coffee at the casino bar. Even better — if you receive free drinks in the casino, those usually include specialty coffees like lattes and cappuccinos. So when the line is long at Java Blue on a sea day, go get your free specialty coffee from the casino bar! ☕
🍦☕ DIY COFFEE MILKSHAKE
Another fun cruise hack is making a simple coffee milkshake. Grab a cup of the free coffee from Lido Marketplace, add ice to cool the coffee, then stir in a swirl of soft-serve ice cream. It’s an easy DIY iced coffee treat using things that are already included.
