10 Things to Do Two Weeks Before Your Carnival Cruise

Your Carnival cruise is officially getting close! About two weeks before we sail, I start going through the final details so I’m not scrambling the night before we leave. This is also an important point for Carnival cruisers because online check-in opens 14 days before your sailing (16 days for eligible priority guests).

Here are 10 things I like to take care of around the two-week mark:

1. Check your travel documents – Make sure passports, birth certificates and any other required documents are ready to go and haven't expired. Print or take photos of all your travel documents in case you need them.

   
   

2. Confirm flights & transportation – Double-check flight times, airport transportation, hotel reservations, parking reservations and how you're getting to the cruise terminal.

   
   

3. Complete Carnival online check-in – Choose your arrival appointment when available and complete the required information for each guest. Print your boarding passes and luggage tags, set up your onboard spending account, and choose your boarding time.

   
   

4. Research ports & book excursions – If you haven't planned your port days yet, now is a good time to make those final decisions. Popular excursions can sell out quickly, so plan ahead and reserve your spots.

6. 7. Pre-purchase your drink package & Wi-Fi – Check Carnival's current pre-cruise options before you sail. Packages, pricing and discounts can change. Both are usually discounted before your cruise compared to buying onboard.

   
   

8. Notify your bank if needed – Check your bank and credit card travel policies, especially if you'll be using cards in international ports.

10. Prep your home – Hold mail if necessary, arrange pet care, take out the trash, adjust thermostats and take care of anything else you don't want to worry about while you're away.

I like doing these things two weeks out because there's still plenty of time to fix something if I discover a missing document, prescription that needs refilling or reservation I forgot to make.
